The press conference was headed by ATCE Chairman, Counselor Mokbel Shaker and Vice Chairman, Eng. Kotb Soliman and Ghibli Raceway Chairman, Hany Soufrakis in addition the Deputy Head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), Mr. Ahmed Shoukry attended the press conference. Additionally the Head of Sporting Committee of the ATCE, Mr. Ramzi Zaklama in addition to other distinguished members of ATCE.
The successful press conference confirmed the participation of more than 30 drivers in 1st round of MEKC in Sharm El Sheikh from more then 14 countries. Mr. Soufrakis confirmed the interest of other countries and locations in hosting future rounds of the MEKC, but will be confirmed after the completion of the championship's first year. To which Mr. Ahmed Shoukry, Deputy Head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), replid, "the events importance cannot be estimated for Tourism in Sharm El Sheikh and in putting Egypt on international sporting calendar, Egypt is honoured to host the opening and Final round of the establishment year of the Middle East Karting Cup and believes that such events generate publicity for Egypt far in excess of the numbers attending the race or the profitability of such an event."
