The finales of the first round at Sharm El Sheikh |

It all came to this important day after the past days build up with adrenaline at its max every thing was ready for a great finale. The weather condition was ideal with Sun shine and lots of spectators who turned out to see the Final.
The day started with the pre finale for the junior category. Consisting of 15 laps the winner was the Russian driver who had proven to be the favorite to win the finale. |

The first 3 places were as follow:
1. Stepan Karasev Russia.
2. Pierre George another great and promising young driver from Syria.
3. Osman Abu Samra from Jordan.
After the junior pre final we had the senior pre final.
The Senior pre finale consisting of 20laps was dominated from the start by the Austrian driver Kevin Richard who made it clear that he was here to win with a gap over 300 meters separating him from the second driver the Jordanian Hamza Dirani just after 4 laps from the start. Through the course of the race the heat build up for the 3rd place between Tarek Khedr from Egypt who shown great talent and Piero De Marchi from Italy winner of the ENRMC 2007 and Ahmed Zidan another talented driver from Egypt winner of 2006 ENRMC. This dog fight lasted till the 10th laps were finally Piero De Marchi took the 3rd place followed by Tarek Khedr and Ahmed Zidan. |

After the end of the 2 pre finals we had the driver’s parade accompanied by the lovely models holding the flags of each participating country which put the spectators in cheers, Mr. Hany Soufrakis chairman of Ghibli Raceway presented each driver with a medal to commemorate the event. |

Junior’s finale: |

The race consisted of 20 laps with the Russian driver Stephan Karasev taking the lead and holding his position till the end of the race. Second position was held by the Syrian driver Pierre George from the start till the end. The Jordanian driver who was favorite for the 3rd place went off track and lost valuable time and this gave the chance to Mazen Badawy from Egypt to move to the 3rd place and hold it till the end of the race. |

Senior’s finale: |

With almost 33 km to race to the podium (25 laps) this was the highlight of the Middle East karting Cup round #1. As predicted the Austrian driver Kevin Richard dominated the event and sealing his 1st place on the podium just after 3 laps from the start with the fastest lap 1:00.89 achieved through the entire event. In second place was Hamza Dirani the Jordanian champion. The first bad luck for the Egyptian team was with the exhaust failure of Tarek Khedr from the 1st lap that resulting on him leaving the race leaving only Ahmed Zidan representing Egypt in this Middle East Karting Cup. Ahmed Zidan had a problem with the braking system that put him out of competition leading the way for Piero De Marchi to take over the 3rd place and maintain it till the end.
The event was honored by the attendance of consular Mokbel Shaker president of the ATCE, Mr. Amr El Ezaby president of the ETA ,General Mahmoud Eissa president of the city consul of SSH, Eng. Kotb Soliman Vice president of the ATCE, Mr. Ramzy Zaklama president of the committee of the Egyptian Motor sport, Mr. hany Soufrakis Chairman of Ghibli Raceway, Eng. Nouman Soufrakis Board member of Ghibli Raceway and Eng. Helmy Soufrakis board member of Ghibli Raceway.
The above esteemed guests presented the drivers with their prizes during the prize giving ceremony.
