2nd day of the Final Round of the MEKC
Championship leader Kevin Reichard ( Austria) confirmed his status as Red Hot Favorite by setting the fastest time in Qualifying practice, 60.11. But he was given a close run by his nearest challenger in the standings Piero De Marchi, the Italian now resident in Sharm El Sheikh posted a time of 60.93 and these two will front now for Fridays Heats.

Hamza Dirani, the champion of Jordan flying 3rd in the championship standings was a disappointing 6th quickest and will start at the outside of the 3rd now.
Andy Bruton of England found his best form so far to go 3rd quickest, and the same applied to Egyptian driver Ahmed Ghanem. They will form Row 2.

Another Egyptian driver Tarek Khedr, 5th quickest joins Hamza Dirani on Row 3.

There was drama in the Junior Qualifying Practice. Championship leader Pierre Georges (Syria) secured pole position with the time of 63.12 seconds. However his closest rival Othman Abu Samra (Jordan) had major problems on only his 2nd lap. He had to rely on his 1st lap time of 65.01, but this was bettered by Russian newcomer Nikita Ashevsky.

But then Ashevsky was found to be underweight and was therefore excluded from the Qualifying competition. He will start the Heat from the back. That decision elevated Othman Abu Samra to the font now alongside Pierre Georges.

Libyan drivers Malik Tatanaki and Amin Soufrakis will start on the 2nd Row.

Both the Senior and Junior classes are therefore very competitive with the Winners and Runners Up (Vice Champions) positions still to be determined.
