This race ticket
proceeds went towards developing the facilities of
eye clinics at the National Health Insitute for
children. This was already confirmed and signed
from the 8th of April 2008 by Nora Fayek
, the Customer Service Director of the Inner Wheel
Club Sharm El Sheikh ( District # 95) and Mr. Hany
Soufrakis, the championship promoter of the Middle
East Karting Cup.
Arab celebrities:
Hamid El Shaeri , Nelly Makdissi, Dolly Shahine, Jad
Choeiri, Simon Hadchiti, Jad Sawaya and Maria
Nalbandian, found their very special way to impress
not only their fans, but also all motor sports
lovers, when they released themselves from their
reknown image to let their adrenaline free at Ghibli
Raceway's famed karting circuit.
Without fear they
showed a new talent unknown to them and their fans,
that they are fast, smart, self-confident, and most
importantly that they are kind human beings caring
for the less fortunate of our society.
Being a part of one
of the most dazzling charity karting race in the
Arab world, took our celebrities to spend three
nights in Sharm El Sheikh , and enjoy all the
challenge and fun our team already planned in
advance, in order to make their experience unique
and unforgettable. Their schedule was packed with
fun, they all arrived on Friday where a private
concert and dinner was held at spectacular Iberotel
Lido Hotel located on Naema Bay.
Second day was the
day of action; Ghibli was so proud to host our
famous Arab stars on location. It started formally
with a drivers briefing about regulations, methods
of communication and all other necessary information
related to the race. When time came to start, they
sparkled on the raceway, well equipped, attractive
in specially designed overalls for the occasion,
ready to go with the wind, with nothing to stop
them, nothing to take away the G force they felt for
the first time on the circuit.
Jad Sawaya (an
experienced karter) was able to break all the rules
as he always does, to end the race in first place.
The gorgeous Dolly Shahine proved a match for the
boys and ended up in second place beating the cool
but unpredictable Jad Choueri revealed another
capacity in coming third whom maintained his
tradition of breaking tradition.
That evening was the glamorous Gala Dinner where the
glamorous stars from Lebanon (and Libya of course)
truly dined under the magical stars of Sinai at the
mesmerizing Sofitel Hotel located on the other side
of Naema Bay with all the drivers, media, VIP's and
guests of the championship. To add to what was
already an outstanding event where the drivers &
sponsors received their prizes and trophies our
celebrities sang exclusively for all lucky
attendants. The organizers would like to extend
their appreciation to all our celebrities for their
contribution to the Inner Wheel charity and for
making the 3rd and final round of the
establishment year of the Middle East Karting Cup
truly an event to remember. |
